“Grandmama Mama Drama” is a narrative told in three parts. Part One details the custody journey—and often, the battle—that many parents and grandparents face when trying to provide a safe and nurturing home for children. Part Two describes the changing roles of African American grandparents, highlighting their strengths and needs.

The final segment, Part Three, shares a wonderful assortment of joyful and tearful experiences from grandparents across the United States. As Dr. Green’s favorite quote from Lattimer (1997) reminds us, “Many things we need can wait. The children cannot.”
