Dr. Jacqualyn F. Green Author, Marriage & Family Therapist, Diversity ConsultantDr. Green is the owner of Green Enterprizes, counseling, consulting and training firm, established in 1983. Dr. Green has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee and MSW & Ph.D. Degrees in Social Work from Indiana University. In her private practice, which caters to women and people of color, Jacqualyn works with individuals on issues such as relationships, depression, grief, self-esteem, and/or spiritual strength.
Dr. Green also specializes in cultural diversity consulting and leadership development with educational institutions, corporations, social service agencies, and health organizations. Her work with both individuals in organizations and in her private counseling practice during recent years has been more geared to increased spiritual understanding and growth. Dr. Green has recently authored a book “Spiritual Resilience” to assist those seeking increased spiritual strength. The focus of her book, evolved from her work with clients and her travels, which have enriched her understanding of diverse spiritual practices.
Dr. Green has traveled extensively in the United States. She has also traveled a great deal in Africa, including countries such as: Tanzania, Zanzibar, Ghana, Senegal, and Cote’ D’Ivoire, Gambia, Mali, & Egypt. She has visited several islands in the Caribbean. Dr. Green has conducted numerous workshops and seminars on, spiritual differences and cultural competency. Dr. Green presented a paper on Diversity and Chemical Dependency in Egypt and a paper on Aging & Diversity in Toronto, Canada. She presented a seminar on Spirituality and the Entrepreneur for the National Association of Black Social Workers. She provided a workshop at the Black Family Conference on Spiritual Lessons: Remembering what your Grandmother taught you. Dr. Green has received numerous awards for her work within the profession and her community. Some of her awards include: the Sagamore of the Wabash (State of Indiana), Phyllis Wheatley (YWCA), Mary McLeod Bethune (NCNW), Trailblazer Award and Creative Leadership Award (National Association of Black Social Workers) and Breakthrough Women Award (Coalition of 100 Black Women). One of Dr. Green’s favorite proverbs is: “The opportunity that God sends does not wake him who is asleep.” Senegalese Proverb). Dr Green’s book provides strategies to stay awake, alert, and attentive to the spiritual side as readers enhance their relationship with God. |
